TEDX Cambridge

For several years, Charles River Media Group has captured and edited the live talks and performances of TEDx Cambridge. In 2018, CRMG founder Don Schechter joined the TEDx Cambridge Team as Media Director to oversee the various vendors and their video production elements during the event at the Boston Opera House.

AHRT

A more futuristic application of live streaming in our previous works include a 3D “Humagram” of Ray Kurzweil, an author, futurist, and Google Director of Engineering. CRMG recorded the presentation and Q&A session with the holographic speaker, and through AHRT Meida, who provided this great post about the event, and live streamed t to the HIGH-TECH NATION forum in Minsk, Belarus. The audience experienced Kurzweil as a hologram on stage and interacted with him via a two way feed. A vertical camera fed the “hologram” and the horizontal camera fed the large LED IMAG screens. A third feed was also sent with the presentation while we received cameras of the host and audience via the Minsk production team. Charles River Media Group is looking forward to our holographic future.

CRMG Goes LIVE! with Octavia Spencer and Ryan Reynolds

The launch of Facebook Live in 2016 opened a new era of live streaming, as video webcasting of live events became mainstream, created, viewed, and shared by millions of online users. We at CRMG saw great potential in this far-reaching live stream platform for many of our clients, including Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding.

Each year, Hasty Pudding Theatricals presents the Woman and Man of the Year Awards to celebrities who have made lasting and meaningful impact on the world of entertainment. Filled with day-long events, celebrity roasts, interviews, and a press conference, this high profile event in Cambridge, MA has been a delight for us to film for over ten years.

This year, we proposed an upgrade from a highlight reel to a multi-camera live broadcast on Facebook. The Hasty Pudding, in all of its celebrity charms and lively quirks, found its perfect medium in live video webcasting–a stream come true!
